This aspect of our website will be used to discuss the emerging technology that affects business, giving you our advice on what's coming, and whether it's of use to you.
Here, we'll be looking at new operating systems, such as Windows Vista, and providing our opinion on what it means to you, and Office 2007, with it's radically different interface as well as Open Office, an entirely free office suite, and considering it as a free alternative.
We'll be looking out for new tools, for example the Amazon S3 storage system, Windows Live and Office Live services (a method of running Office on the web). Impartially we'll be looking at issues such as Windows Genuine Advantage, dual core processing from AMD and Intel and the real-world advantages this can bring to getting work done.
We will also be considering alternatives to the Windows platform. All to frequently - and usually or security reasons, Microsoft are in the news. Constant patching has become a non option, yet such patches frequently cause more trouble than they fix. Here, we'll look at other providers to see if you could switch to another system, such as the Apple platform.
